Sudakskaya fortress

Sudakskaya fortress is one of the main places of interest in this part of the Crimea peninsula. It is located on the fortress mountain. The construction of this fortress took over 50 years (1321-1469).

At that time there was an intensive trade between Genoese, Venetian, Pisanian and local people and neighbours. Later the fortress was destroyed but by the present time it has been restored, everything has been done so carefully. The main place of interest of the fortress is Maiden’s Tower. It is 157 metres high, and it’s underfoot is a steep rock, so that few people dare climb it.
